Past guests 3 most frequentLY asked questionsWhy your villa/resort/spa is not built in traditional thai style? We decided 25 years ago that for the tropical climate of Koh Samui that the Mediterranean / Acapulco style in stone, brick, cement and hard wood trimming would have been easier to keep clean, free of molds, unwanted bugs and mosquitos that the traditional Thai style housing and furnishings. Futhermore we had in mind since the beginning to concentrate on families and groups of guests so our building style ensures that nobody has to worry about "cute" but fraglile fittings that are easy to damage. Our original eggshell finish on the inside as well as the outside of the place creates a ' vortex ' effect and the interior of the villa stays cool all day long. Why did you opt for the hillside of Baan Tailing Ngam instead of right at the beach? After 3 years of touring Koh Samui we came to the conclusion that once Samui became famous this naturally perfect south west spot, full of vegetation and wildlife area, would have been of no interest to mass-tourist crowds. We chose to be in a relatively isloated area to ensure privacy. You do not get privacy on the beach-front. To nature and peace loving guests, having 8 bays to choose from only 5 minutes away was a valid reason. The constant trade winds keep the place cool all day and night long and pratically mosquito free. To be by the beach was a price too high to pay with bar and disco music all night long and the intense heat of the night as the sea gave back the energy absorbed during the day. Being prisoners of air conditioning was not a good idea of vacations, besides beaches are public with no way to keep vendors, 'massage people' and stray dogs away. Are families with children, older people and pets allowed? We welcome them with open arms as we have special areas specifically created keeping in minds their safety and comfort. The atmosphere we have created over the years has made it possible for all of our guests to feel that when it is the time to leave that they are leaving a piece of their heart behind. At departure time many tears have been shed.. The kindness of our people on the ground - Kitty, Chang One, Panu, Koi and Lek - will remain with you forever and the only way you can take the children and their mothers away is by promising them you'll be back soon. Knowing that they are there waiting will make a difference in your frantic everyday life back in your world. |
